Officials book 3 on drug charges

A three-year undercover operation has snagged three Texas residents alleged to have supplied cocaine to distributors in Baton Rouge, federal officials announced Tuesday.

Sixteen people have been indicted locally in the past year, and officials said those charges led to the recent arrests of 11 others in Houston — some on charges that they used drug money to supply weapons and ammunition to the brutal Los Zetas drug cartel in Mexico.
