HEBRON – A Mexican citizen who’s twice been deported from the United States was sentenced to prison after he was found to be in the country illegally again.
Marcelino Tellez-Pineda, 35, most recently was discovered after he was arrested Jan. 1 by Hebron police for driving under the influence, according to a news release from the U.S. Department of Justice.
He originally was deported in 1998 after being convicted of assault with a deadly weapon in California, according to court documents. Tellez-Pineda was deported the second time in 2004, again from California, because he was in the country illegally.
On Tuesday, he was sentenced to serve a 60-month prison sentence, after which he’s been ordered to surrender to immigration authorities, according to the news release.
The case was investigated by the Chicago office of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, a part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. McHenry County law enforcement also assisted.

Too bad they don't hand out "hard labor" sentences, that might keep him from coming back! As it is if they send them home, they turn around and are back here in no time.
