HUMBERTO MONTELONGO-CUELLAR, 54, a Mexican National residing in Clarksville, Texas has been sentenced to 71 months by United States District Court Judge Michael H. Schneider for being an illegal alien who has been previously deported and has unlawfully re-entered the United States. After serving the term of imprisonment Montelongo-Cuellar is to be deported from the United States.

According to court records, Montelongo-Cuellar is a registered sex offender and has previously been convicted of indecency with a child by contact and subsequently removed from the United States. A federal grand jury previously returned a 1-count indictment on March 10, 2006 charging Humberto Montelongo-Cuellar with reentry of a deported alien.

This case was investigated by the Department of Homeland Security, United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Michele A. Ratcliffe.

FELIPE LUCERO-AHUMADA, a 38-year-old Mexican national and an illegal alien, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Michael Schneider to 13 months in federal prison.

On June 21, 2006, LUCERO-AHUMADA pleaded guilty to the indictment and was convicted in federal court for illegal reentry into the United States following a previous deportation. Under federal law, such an offense carries an enhanced penalty if the prior order of deportation was subsequent to the illegal alien's conviction for an aggravated felony offense.

This case was investigated by the Immigration and Customs Service and was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Randall A. Blake.
