Hickenlooper defends Denver against ‘sanctuary city’ charges
‘The city has never adopted a non-cooperation policy on immigration’

Democratic candidate for governor John Hickenlooper defended himself last week against mounting accusations from Republicans that, as mayor, he has run Denver as a so-called sanctuary city, where illegal immigrants are directly and indirectly protected against federal immigration laws and possible deportation. It’s a charge that has gained traction in the weeks since Arizona lawmakers passed a controversial suite of immigration laws and as the move to remake federal immigration policy in Washington heats up.


“The city has never adopted any sort of ‘non-cooperation’ policy in regard to the enforcement of federal immigration laws or communications with federal officials in regard to immigration matters. Denver has and will continue to fully cooperate with and refer cases to Immigration and Customs Enforcement and has always complied with state and federal immigration law,â€

You could have fooled me Hickenlooper...when one of your lovely illegal alien dishwashers with a long criminal history and recent arrests at the time, shot and killed one of your officers, it came out how he wasn't deported after prior arrests, because he wasn't checked. After he killed the cop, he fled to Mexico on his own, and had to be extradited back to Colorado in order to face charges.

Hickenlooper hired illegal aliens to work in his own restaurant too.

Hickenlooper, your a damn liar.

and mayor, you dont have to adopt any rules saying what you or dont do when someone is arrested. you just do it silently

Hickenlooper should have been charged with hiring illegals after his dishwasher shot and killed the off duty police officer but he got a free pass. Hickenlooper is, in my opinon, nothing but a wasteful piece of garbage that works illegals to make a buck for himself. Shame on Denver for keeping him.
