More than a dozen suspected illegal immigrants were found stuffed in the back of a large truck that was stalled on the Sam Houston Parkway in southwest Houston Thursday night, officials said.

The truck was spotted about 8:20 p.m. on West Beltway 8 near the Westpark Tollway, according to Harris County Precinct 5 Constable's Office.

Pct, 5 Capt. Terry Allbritton said a roadside assistance worker stopped to help the driver when he saw the disabled truck. But the driver of the truck jumped out and ran away.

The worker looked in the back of the truck and found 16 people packed inside. He called deputies to the scene.

Allbritton said the people told deputies they were from Central and South America. Among them were two 16-year-old boys and a woman.

The people told deputies they had not eaten for several hours, Allbritton said. The deputies made them ham sandwiches and gave them water to drink.

Officials with federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement were called to the scene and took the people into custody.

The truck driver so far has not been found. No description of the man was available.

Central and South America. The IMF is giving loans to certain governments in these regions based on how many illegal they have in this country sending money home. These loans are given to the respective governments for "infrastructure" which I believe is code for lining the pockets of the politicians and elites in these countries. JMO
