Remember that the SEIU is the largest, radical, leftist union in the U.S. and had a major hand in supporting, funding and organizing the massive illegal alien "protests" (i.e. public temper tantrums) demanding amnesty in 2006....the SEIU actively recruits illegal aliens as members as part of Andy Stern's goal to make the SEIU the most powerful union in the U.S....
Now they are waging a massive, p.r. campaign (and using union members dues moeny, I suspect) to get Hiilda Solis (the anchor baby, champion for illegal aliens) nominated for that Secretary of Labor position. LL

Unions step up to fight for Solis

Increasingly frustrated by Senate Republicans stalling the confirmation of Rep. Hilda Solis (D-Calif.) as Labor Secretary, unions are preparing to amp up a national campaign for the nominee.

The Service Employees International Union (SEIU) blasted a web video to 60,000 online activists Friday asking them to support Solis’s confirmation. In the video, SEIU President Andy Stern asks viewers to sign a petition to back the California Democrat for the Labor position.

“Sadly, conservative Republicans — people who blocked the minimum wage, children’s health insurance — are now using the same old Washington tactics trying to stop Secretary Solis from being confirmed,â€

Representing more immigrants than any other union, SEIU also seeks to "ensure [that] immigrant workers have a shot at the American dream." Toward that end, it supports the legalization of illegal aliens, who it characterizes as "hard-working, tax-paying immigrants." SEIU is a sponsoring organization of the Immigrant Workers Freedom Ride Coalition, which seeks to secure amnesty for illegal aliens, and favors policy reforms that will diminish or eliminate future restrictions on immigration. SEIU views such immigrants as a potentially plentiful source of future SEIU dues-paying members.

Of course, they are using members dues money. Many unions have instituted mandatory assessments that are way over the standard local's dues---and these are overtly used to build whatever Political Machine the union bosses want. That's where Obama got a HUGE chunk of his money. So, they are going to try anything they can to solidify their hold an American society---and also to enlist illegal aliens who can pay dues in their cause.
