Illegal Aliens Use Little Health Care

Could someone please explain to me why so many hospitals in the
US have had to close--if the illegals are using "so little health care"?
(Didn't this study neglect to include cost to hospitals, versus public
    spending???)

    http://www.sttammany.com/news-detail/ar ... -alie.html

A Rand Corp. study finds that the amount of federal, state and local tax money spent providing healthcare for illegal immigrants in the United States is small.

The total public spending on healthcare for undocumented aliens between the ages of 18 and 64 comes to $1.1 billion, or about $11 in taxes per U.S. household. Total government spending on healthcare for all adults in the same age group comes to $88 billion.
Researchers say that illegal immigrants tend to be healthier than the general population. Their estimates were based on a survey of households in Los Angeles that found large percentages of illegal immigrants had never visited a doctor or had a checkup.
James Smith, an expert in labor market and demographic studies and one of the authors of the report, said that debate on the influx of undocumented aliens is looking at the wrong issues.
"Costs will be much higher for educating the children of undocumented immigrants, so that's where debate should center, not on these relatively small healthcare costs," Smith said.
The study was published in the journal Health Affairs.

    A Rand Corp. study
    Here's your reason............RAND is an anti-AMERICAN org.
They're behind much that is bad for our Sovereignty.

It's to their advantage to skew the stats and move disinformation out into the public.

Well it is certainly not true. Our emergency room is filled with them everyday. Could it be that they don't take into account that the only way the hospital can be reimbursed is if the illegals sign a paper saying that they are illegal. My daughter-in-law is an RN at the local emergency room and they don't ask about illegal status. Sometimes the emergency room has to have signatures because the patient needs surgery and they don't want to sign anything because they are here illegally, the nurses assure them that they will not be reported.

This is probably a trick question.

It's my understanding that hospitals aren't allowed to ask the "status" of their clients. All they can ask is if they're insured or not.

That would certainly make any estimate of the amount of services illegals use a low-ball figure.
It's like hell vomited and the Bush administration appeared.

We all need to start refusing to give out information. Why should we have to give them everything but our first born to get into an emergency room or hospital when the illegals don't have to give any information. I ask what info illegals had to give to get license plates at the DMV and was told a valid credit card or a receipt for a utility bill but they wouldn't give me license plates unless I gave them my husband's ss#, he wouldn't give it to them, he said, "like they don't already have it on file. They finally gave me the plates because they do already have his ss# on file. Next year I am going to take a receipt for a utility bill with me to get my plates, if it is good enough for illegals it should be good enough for me. They have a completely different set of rules for these people.

I agree! My daughter went from private school a couple years ago back into the government school (public). Before she could be enrolled I had to prove... whatever... they wanted a copy of the rent lease or property deed. We were in the middle of some property changes so our lawyer had the deed. So I called the principal and asked what the illegal used, he was quiet for a minute then softly said my daughter would be admitted without the deed.
