SAN ANTONIO -- Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Obama said that immigration should not be used as "a political football."
The Illinois Senator addressed a rally in a heavily Hispanic neighborhood in San Antonio Tuesday.
Obama said security of the border has to be combined with a pathway to citizenship for people who are already in America.
Obama and Democratic rival Hillary Rodham Clinton will be debate Thursday night in Austin.
The Texas primaries are March 4.
Obama is expected to hold a rally Tuesday night in Houston's 19,000-seat Toyota Center.

We already have a pathway to citizenship. It's called LEGAL immigration. You apply and wait for the OK to enter, get a green card, work and support yourself and your family for 5 years, then you can get citizenship. Worked for me.
Not hard to understand. OBEY the laws. Illegal? Oops, you broke the laws, GET OUT!Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Obama in Texas
This guy is scary. Doesn't he realize that those words are encouraging more to come each day in hopes of legal status? Granting legal status to the 20 million already here only breeds a need for more illegals.
Legal workers won't work for low wages and will demand benefits. Employers will still hire illegal workers for lower wages.
I thought Obama was promising change?
