A Los Fresnos man is behind bars after he and an 8-year-old girl were found sleeping partially nude with each other.

Cameron County Sheriff’s Department deputies arrested 43-year-old Angel Waldo Hernandez on child molestation charges over the weekend.

Action 4 News does not release the identities of sexual abuse victims but court records show that Hernandez had access to the girl and her home.

The records show that Hernandez had worked and drank a dozen 16-ounce Natural Light beers prior to the incident.

The house was full of children but the girl’s mother allegedly found Hernandez and her daughter and Hernandez asleep together.

The two were found partially nude with Hernandez aroused.

The girl’s mother ran Hernandez out of the house and deputies were able to arrest him when he returned to the house.

Hernandez admitted to fondling the girl and having her fondle him.

The Los Fresnos allegedly told deputies that he was also drunk during another molestation incident with the same girl about a month ago.

Deputies filed two indecency with a child by contact charges against Hernandez.

Under state law, the crime is punishable from two to 20 years in prison and/or a $10,000 dollar fine.

Hernandez appeared before a Cameron County Magistrate Judge Patricia Edelstein over the weekend.

Court records show that he also has a failure to appear in court charge in a 2007 DWI case.

Hernandez remains in custody under $150,000 dollars in bonds as well as an emergency protective order and a detainer from U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement.
