ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT FACING PRISON
Jun 21, 2006 -KPVI

A felon living in the United States illegally will spend the next six months in prison. This week, Miguel Francisco Aguirre pled guilty to a charge of felony meth possession. But it wasn't his first run-in with the law. In 2004, Aguirre was convicted on two felony charges of rape and lewd conduct with minor. He got probation back then, but now, with the drug charge, he could be in prison for the next 15 years. Because Aguirre is an illegal immigrant, his next stop after prison could be Mexico.
"Miguel Aguirre also has an immigration hold. So it's possible that, given the type and nature of his offenses, that the immigration and customs enforcement would proceed to deport him."

The judge retained jurisdiction in Aguirre's case. His sentence will be reviewed in six months then the judge will decide whether Aguirre will serve his remaining jail time.
