Carencro Police arrested 11 illegal immigrants believed to be linked to a check fraud ring across state lines.

Officers say the groups had stolen checks as well as fraudulent manufactured checks in the name of a local horse trainer and were cashing them at Carencro businesses.

The investigation revealed the group cashed more than $15,000 in checks and were in possession of additional checks worth $45,000.

Officers also found 9 fraudulent Louisiana racing licenses, false identification cards, marijuana, forged documents, and more than $2000 in cash.

This investigation coincides with a raid which was conducted at the Evangeline downs training facility two weeks ago.

Dozens of officers from at least four agencies assisted the Carencro Police Department in raiding the tracks resulting in two arrests.
