A recent seminar in Chandigarh organised by the Italian Embassy and VFS Global Services highlighted the need for curbing illegal immigration to Italy from India. Antonio Armellini, the Italian Ambassador in India, who was present at the event expressed concern over the fact that in recent months there had been a huge increase in the number of forged and fake documents that were being submitted along with visa applications in India.
“There are growing employment opportunities in Italy and there has been a huge increase in the number of people going from India with employment in areas such as agriculture, machine tools and trade.
