    23 Illegals arrested in raid on bakery in Taylor, PA

    Breaking news: Immigration raid detains 23 workers in Taylor

    TAYLOR -- Twenty-three workers at a commercial bakery were taken into custoday about 7 a.m. this morning following an immigration raid by federal, state and local authorities, said Taylor Police Chief Stephen Derenick.

    It was the result of a five-month investigation started by the Taylor Police Department, he said, into suspected hiring of illegal immigrants by B.C. Bundt Inc. in the Stauffer Industrial Park.

    The 18 men and five women were taken to state police barracks in Dunmore for processing. The raid was orderly and encountered no resistance, Chief Derenick said.

    Tampa, Fla.-based B.C. Bundt makes cakes, parfaits and branded products for stores and food service companies, according to its Web site.

    Interesting comment under the "About Us" tab and an Email form under "Contact Us" tab. Surprise there is nothing under the "News" tab concerning the arrest of ILLEGALS at their production plant.

    "Special bundt cakes are available: Dulce De Leche for the Hispanic shopper; sugar free cake for the diabetic consumer; and a French label for the Canadian buyer."
