Illegals arrested for murder of Border Patrol agent (updated)

An immigration enforcement activist says the arrest of two illegal aliens for the murder of a Border Patrol agent illustrates that despite the Obama Administration's assurances, the Mexican border is not secure.

Fox News reported that the two Mexican nationals arrested Sunday in connection to the brutal murder of Agent Javier Vega, Jr. had been deported six times.

The suspects were apparently part of a gang of armed Mexicans that local farmers spotted wearing military fatigues while marching through their fields.

William Gheen is President of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC or ALIPAC. He says that the murder shows how insecure borders have become. Gheen "Agent Vegas' tragic murder, being killed in front of his mother and father, is actually symbolic of how the Executive Branch – first under Bush and now under Obama – refuses to enforce the existing immigration and border laws in the United States," he tells OneNewsNow.

Gheen says the American people must hold their political leaders responsible for what is going on at the border. "It is only through great and pervasive American apathy that our nation can be invaded and politicians can run so far amok without correction,” he says. “Hopefully the death of Agent Vega will get more people involved, but unfortunately a lot of people out there are not going to get involved until it's their loved one that is killed. Then they’ll get involved."

Gheen says the death of Agent Vega illustrates that the federal government is not doing its primary job of protecting American citizens from those who come from the outside to harm us.

Gustavo Tijerina still facing a capital murder charge for the August 3rd death of off-duty Border Patrol Javier Vega, Jr.
No trial date has been set but the case is soon expected to be presented before a grand jury in Willacy County.
Vega died defending his family at a fishing spot off FM 1420 near Santa Monica.
But records show that Tijerina was involved in several violent crimes well before the Border Patrol agent's death.
The records show Tijerina was robbing people in neighboring Cameron County at least two months before.
No arrests were ever made in the cases until after Vega’s death.

    La Feria Carjacking
Records show that Tijerina was one of three suspects in an armed carjacking just north of La Feria back on June 16th.
A man told Cameron County Sheriff’s Department deputies that Tijerina and two other stole his truck at gunpoint off North Solis Road.
The stolen truck broke down on nearby Kika De La Garza Road.
Deputies were able to recover the truck but were never able to identify Tijerina and the other suspects until after Vega’s death.

    Gun Pointed To Stomach
Tijerina is also one of three suspects accused of robbing two fisherman off FM 1420 near Camp Perry on June 20th.
The men were fishing along the Arroyo Colorado when Tijerina and others arrived.
Tijerina allegedly pulled out a gun and told the men, “Al suelo pu***,” which in English means, “On the ground b******.”
At one point in the robbery, Tijerina allegedly pointed his gun at the stomach of one of the fishermen.
Tijerina allegedly fired a warning shot before taking off with the fishermen’s cell phones, cash and their Chrysler 300.

    Couple Robbed
But the crime spree didn’t end there.
Tijerina has also been linked to a third robbery that was reported back on June 22nd.
A couple told deputies that they were also fishing along the Arroyo Colorado off FM 1420.
Tijerina and another man robbed the couple at gunpoint and took off in their Dodge Dakota extended cab truck.
Deputies reported that the truck was found abandoned of FM 1425 and Mile 9 North just outside Heidelberg in neighboring Hidalgo County.

    Family Robbed At Gunpoint
Records show that Tijerina and two other men also robbed a couple and their three children at gunpoint back on July 6th.
The family was fishing off FM 1420 near Camp Perry when Tijerina and the others arrived.
Tijerina allegedly shouted, “Todos al piso,” which in English means, “Everyone to the ground.”
No shots were fired but the woman told deputies that she feared for her and her children.
The suspects drove off with the family’s cell phones, wallets and their Ford F-150 pickup truck.
Deputies later found the truck abandoned off Pomelo and Ryan Roads just north of La Feria.

    Interesting comments at the link:

Why were there not any alerts or warnings posted by law enforcement or media informing the public of the crime spree?
the killer was illegal. And as you pointed out, we have enough problems here in the U.S with our own citizens, we don't need anymore problems with illegals. Not to mention, when they come across illegally we have no idea what kind of crimes they have committed in their own country and what they will do here in the U.S if they can't find work. Most will apply for government assistance and the ones that are to lazy to work will turn to a life of crime. We don't need them here.
i agree with your statements. Most illegals just come to the USA for all the free benefits. Most of them dont even work their excusr is that they dont have a social security card. Send them all back if they dont work.

Yea that's why I shop at Target not Walmart Border Patrol should set up at Walmart they would need a few buses....Just saying!!

He was arraigned on charges of capital murder and attempted capital murder in the Aug. 3 shootings of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Javier Vega Jr. and his father Javier Vega Sr., also arraigned on Tuesday was Gustavo Tijerina

RAYMONDVILLE — A judge has granted Willacy County District Attorney Bernard Ammerman’s request to move the capital murder trial of two Mexican nationals charged with the shootings of an off-duty U.S. Border Patrol agent and his father.

District Judge Migdalia Lopez ordered the trial of Gustavo Tijerina-Sandoval and Ismael Hernandez-Vallejo moved to the 197th state District Court in Brownsville.

Tijerina-Sandoval and Hernandez-Vallejo are charged with capital murder and attempted capital murder in the Aug. 3, 2014, shootings of Javier Vega Jr., 36, and Javier Vega Sr.

Javier Vega Sr. was shot in the lower back and released from a hospital about two days later.
