    Religious campaign seeks immigration stories

    Religious campaign seeks immigration stories

    March 4, 2009 4:15 PM ET

DALLAS (AP) - Religious and community leaders are asking for testimony from U.S. citizens and legal residents separated from family members by deportation or detention.

Pastor Freddy Santiago told reporters in Dallas today that those with the most compelling stories will be asked to offer their testimony this month.

It's a push for immigration reform.

El Paso and Mission also will be among more than a dozen cities hosting community meetings at churches to push for reforms to immigration policies.

The national campaign aims to show the public that the immigration policies of recent years have not just affected immigrants -- but U.S. citizens as well.

In Texas, the meetings are scheduled:

March 13 at Templo de Alabanza in El Paso

March 14 at Jesucristo Es Mi Refugio Church in Dallas

and March 15 at Iglesia del Pueblo in Mission.

OH, BARF! If they are citizens or legally in this country the aiding and abetting of illegals is still not allowed. PERIOD.

Sooo...what if we start a campaign and every time one of these religious groups announces things like this, we email them and ask them why they don't tell the stories of American citizens killed, raped, maimed and ruined by people who shouldn't even be here???? Then we send them a story of someone we've read about or know....
