State recalls cheese after contamination found
    the associated press

    RALEIGH, N.C.
The state has recalled a brand of shredded cheese sold in Mexican stores after finding a sample containing salmonella, the state Agriculture Department announced Friday.

The contaminated 1-pound package of Queso El Nica cheese was found in a store in Wake County, said Joe Reardon, food administrator for the department. The department has asked Distribuidora La Victoria Inc. of Charlotte to stop processing and distributing the cheese.

The cheese was shipped from Florida, but it remained unclear Friday where the product was made, Reardon said.

Salmonella is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, weak or elderly adults and people with weakened immune systems.

No complaints or illnesses have been reported. The department has advised the stores throughout the state that sell the cheese to post signs advising consumers not to eat it and to discard it or return it to the store where they bought it.

A FRIENDLY PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT! TAINTED 'BATH TUB' CHEESE.

I would not eat anything packaged or sold with a name like that. What is it doing in North Carolina to begin with??? Is it an imported cheese? They don't even at the time of this article know where it was made or who made it.

Thus, a "bath tub" is as good a guess as any Butterbean!!

    GREAT POST!!

If we don't get these people and their stuff out of our country, we will all surely die.

Bbean, see if you can find a link to that post on Bathtub Cheese. This certainly sounds like a case.

    Is it an imported cheese?
Yes, it's imported from a dirty bathtub. This stuff is a delicacy in California.
