Immigration Hogtying Dems
The Hill
November 20, 2007
The stumbling and ducking and dodging accompanying the Democratic presidential candidates’ attempts to deal with the question of driver’s licenses for illegal immigrants a couple of debates ago hinted at a real problem one of them is likely to face in next year’s general election campaign.
Over the course of the last few years, Democrats have enjoyed the luxury of sitting back while Republicans were forced to deal with the increasingly volatile immigration issue. The Tom Tancredos and John McCains each had their supporters, but no one, including an increasingly exasperated George Bush, was able to come up with an answer to the concerns of both sides that had a ghost of a chance of passing public muster. Before immigration reform was taken off the table, Republicans were at each other’s throats and hoping the issue might just go away.
Well, it won’t. In fact, public concern about the federal government’s apparent inability to control the nation’s borders or deal in any meaningful way with an increasing flood of illegal immigrants has people fighting mad, and while many of them might not like the way Republicans have fared in dealing with it, they’re likely to be even more upset as they focus on the Democrats.
The Democrats’ problem is that for ideological and practical political reasons, they are hamstrung in dealing with public concerns about the border, amnesty, the availability of public services for illegals and, most important, assimilation. Some [u]newly elected “Blue Dogâ€

All of the democratic candidates have said that they will give amnesty if elected.
To me they are saying... we don't care what the majority of Americans feel about illegal immigration... we think amnesty is the way to go and we don't give a ..."D---" what Americans think!!! I have found this to be their attituted when calling against immigration bills. They are very arrogant and don't hide the fact that they could care less what we think!
Since this article was about the dems... I leave it with them... (even tho' we know that some reps are this way too!!)Please help save America for our children and grandchildren... they are counting on us. THEY DESERVE the goodness of AMERICA not to be given to those who are stealing our children's future! ... and a congress who works for THEM!

At the beginning of the very first Democratic Presidential Candidate Debate, the moderator (Wolf Blitzer) asked for a show of hands to the question"Do you believe that English should be the national language of America'" Mike Gavel was the only candiate out of all of them that raised his hand in support of making English the national language of the United States. Apalling, but true.
Listen to these idiotic statements made by some of the Dumbocrats:
Hillary says making English the offical langauge would have negative consequences
By Kathy Miller | The Hillary Project
Not all Democratic presidential hopefuls reject making English the nation’s official language. At a debate Sunday night, only Mike Gavel, a former senator from Alaska, raised his hand in support of such a measure.
“Yeah. We speak English. That doesn’t mean we can’t encourage other languages. I speak French and English. People speak Spanish and English. But the official language of the United States of America is English,â€Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Yea Hillary, that's right no multiple ballots, no taxpayer funded translators. It will save us millions in elections. THIS IS AMERICAN SPEAK ENGLISH.

[quote]“That means in a place like New York City you can’t print ballots in any other language. That means you can’t have government pay for translators in hospitals so when somebody comes in with some sort of emergency there’s nobody there to help translate what their problem is for the doctor,â€

The Democratic primary winner will have to find a way to smooth over their approval of drivers licenses and amnesty for illegals in the general election. Most of America does not think favorably about illegal immigration and amnesty the way most Democrats and some Republicans do.I think whoever it is will have a quick conversion come debate time between the Repub. and Dem. primary winner.

"That's why they should come the legal way... "
Not quite......look how long Rick Sanchez's parents have been here, and they haven't bothered learning English! Too busy when the kids were being raised, so they say. What's their excuse now? They can't claim age, as people in their 70's, 80's and 90's complete high school and even college!
BULL! They don't bother, because they don't WANT to be bothered.
