ICE: Fatal Crash Suspect an Illegal

HOUSTON - A suspect who allegedly attempted to flee the scene of a deadly car accident is an illegal immigrant, officials said.

Greg Palmore with the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement said the agency has filed a request to detain 26-year-old Rolando Hernandez Comacho.

Comacho is charged with intoxicated manslaughter in connection to the vehicle crash that killed a 24-year-old woman passenger in northwest Houston Sunday night, according to the Houston Police Department statement. He allegedly tried to flee the scene on foot but was apprehended a short time later, according to the statement.

The woman was ejected out of her seat when the Ford Explorer Comacho was supposedly driving collided with the rear of a Ford Focus on the 1500 block of the West Loop North, according to the statement. The collision caused both vehicles to land outside the freeway.

A man has been accused of being drunk when he caused a fatal wreck last weekend on the 610 West Loop.

Rolando Hernandez Comacho, 25, is charged with intoxication manslaughter in the death of a woman who died in the crash in the 1500 block of 610 West Loop North near Interstate 45 about 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

The victim's name has not been released.

Investigators said Comacho was driving a white Ford Expedition when he slammed into the back of a red Ford Focus.

The woman was thrown from the Focus and died at the scene.

Comacho ran away, but police officers arrested him a short time later.

Love the PC article by the Houston Chronicle! I guess the fact that he's an IA has no bearing on the story. This idiotic practice of not including all the facts when reporting such stories must be stopped!

THE chronicle did not know at the original time it was posted that he was illegal, i called HPD and they didnt know at the time, on monday, if he was illegal
