MIAMI (AP) - An immigration trial will begin in Miami for a former University of South Florida student who faces deportation despite being acquitted of federal explosives charges.

Twenty-three-year-old Youssef Megahed, who will face immigration charges Monday, was arrested along with a fellow USF student in August 2007 in South Carolina. Deputies said they found dangerous explosives in the trunk, but a federal jury acquitted him of those charges in April.

Megahed, who is Egyptian, was grabbed by immigration officials a few days after his acquittal.
