GUERRERO VIEJO, Tamps., Mexico — Mexican authorities resumed the search Wednesday morning for the body of David Michael Hartley, the McAllen man missing and widely presumed dead after "pirates" on Falcon Reservoir allegedly shot him in the head Thursday.

The same authorities in Miguel Aleman who questioned the account of his wife, Tiffany Young-Hartley — who has said she survived the attack and who reported the incident to U.S. officials — departed for the reservoir at 8 a.m. Wednesday. The Tamaulipas State Police commander in Miguel Aleman, Rolando Armando Flores Villegas, took all his staff to aid in the search and assist the District Attorney for Nueva Ciudad Guerrero and Ciudad Mier, Marco Antonio Guerrero Carrizales.

The DA had not received any formal complaint about the case as of 10 a.m. Wednesday, but it appears public pressure — including Tuesday's media blitz by the Hartley family on national TV — prompted the redoubled efforts to locate the body.

The Mexican army and Mexico Attorney General's Office (PGR) are also participating in the search.

The wife gave a statement yesterday to the Mexican Counsulate in McAllen, which is expected to soon be turned to the authorities in Miguel Aleman.
