Cavuto: Illegal Immigration... and the Church?

Now Jesus is involved.

Here's the deal.

The Arizona crackdown has come ....to Christ.

Leading bishops making their case with Senator John McCain today to come back from the dark side endorsing Arizona's new illegal immigration law, and embrace a kinder, gentler approach.

Don't know if Mighty Mac's been exorcised of his illegal crackdown demons ... Indications are he hasn't ... It says something of the desperation of the Arizona protest movement that it's come to relying on divine intervention.

Because so far ... Human intervention simply hasn't swayed minds.

Not the more than six out of ten Americans who in the latest Wall Street Journal poll support Arizona's move...

Or the increasing number of cities and states that have given up protesting Arizona's move.

That's not to say some aren't still trying ...

Los Angeles' City Council comes to mind ... This flat broke city in a flat broke state all but declaring flat out war again Arizona, and severing all financial ties "with" Arizona.

But la-la-land's the exception, hardly the rule.

Which brings us back to holy men hoping to launch a holy war in the face of an all too eager American public saying holy hell, no don't you even try.

Because try as those who oppose what Arizonans are doing as racist, even fascist ... Most folks seem to think they're just being alarmists.

That Phoenix 2010 ain't Birmingham 1962. That this isn't about folks slighted by the color of their skin but the validity of their documents.

Not about targeting people who have every right to be here, but properly going after those who have no right to be here.

Only now in this super-charged politically correct environment can we twist this contorted argument to making it illegal to go after illegals.

But there you have it, and snowball's chance in a hot Scottsdale sun, even men of god have a prayer saying this is about god.
