Video is best viewed using the latest version of Windows Media Player. It's a dangerous journey some illegal immigrants make every year. A journey through the desert that could take several days. Immigrants could get lost, run out of water or die in sweltering heat.

Now, illegal immigrants could be getting help from the Mexican government. Julieta Nunez, of the Mexican Institute for Migration, says during this time of year, an organization called "Grupos Beta" increases its patrols. This is when desert crossings are most common. The group is an off-shot of the Mexican Institute for Migration.

Grupos Beta is called if immigrants get lost on the desert or need medical attention. The group also lets immigrants know what dangers lie ahead as they make their way towards the United States.

In the region surrounding Juarez , Grupos Beta has helped nearly 10,000 people. In 110 cases, immigrants needed medical care.
