IA ask why the Matricula card is not accepted in Mexico.

    PARTIAL TRANSLATION FROM:
    http://www.elremesero.com/noticias/news/1152.html

(Efrain) Jiménez, who works as the national coordinator of the Subcommittee of the 3x1 Program and Productive Projects of the Consultative Counsel of the Institute of Mexicans abroad (IME), considered that the Mexican government should show coherence in its policies towards immigrants.

"On the one hand, they ask for our support; and on the other, they do not give us the tools to invest", he affirmed. Jiménez put an example: if a migrant wants to invest in Mexico, the first thing that is required is a valid identification such as the voter ID card. Also a Tax Form and the Registration of Population Code (CURP). None of these documents are given out at Mexican Consulates.

"Nowadays, in the United States we require that state governments and cities recognize the Matricula Consular Card as an official identification, but in Mexico they don't. Not coherence exists", he added. "They want immigrants to invest in Mexico, but they don't give us legal identity".

HUH?!?!?! If you came from Mexico, wouldn't you alreay have your legal identity?

    2. matricula card is NOT recognized by the large majority of US agencies.

    3. The reason mexico won't accept it is because of what I call the "shut up already" card - given out to anyone who whines for one, no proof of mexican citizenship needed! I've seen American teenagers with these cards and I KNOW they aren't mexican! The ONLY mexicans who have these cards are illegal aliens.

    4. Mexico wants the migrants money, but it does not want the migrants back. Get it now?
Too bad there's no cure for stupidity!

There is NO excuse for stupid.

How about LaRaza and the ACLU, the US Chamber of Commerce and LULAC, just for a start. And after an extensive list of other organizations, we could probably look at the current major presidential candidates, although they haven't voiced that in so many words, but the hints seem to be there.
