This is a twist on the "jobs Americans won't do" ... while on the job, he "did a job most Americans won't do"

Man Accused of Fondling Girls at Wal-Mart
March 10, 2005

On Wednesday, March 9th, a 21-year-old Phoenix man was arrested and booked for two counts of Child Molestation. The arrest was the result of two incidents that occurred between 9:45 and 10:00 p.m. on Monday, March 7 at the Wal-Mart at 5250 West Indian School Road in Phoenix.

A seven-year-old girl reported to her family that a Wal-Mart employee had fondled her genital area through her clothing in the Pet Department while she was at the store with family members Monday evening. The next night, Tuesday, March 8, the girl's father returned to the Wal-Mart store to report what happened. A Phoenix police officer happened to be at the store at that time processing a shoplifting arrest, and was notified of the allegation.

Store security employees reviewed security camera video and saw Garcia fondle two young girls within a fifteen minute time frame, from 9:45 - 10:00 p.m. Garcia touched the girls while they were looking at aquarium fish on display. The first victim appears to be a Hispanic girl approximately seven to eight-years-old. The identity of this victim is unknown. The second victim is the seven-year-old whose father came to the store.

On Wednesday, March 9th, detectives with the Phoenix Police Department's Crimes Against Children Unit interviewed the 7 year old and viewed the video tape. The suspect was called to the store by a store supervisor and arrested. He admitted to the allegations during interview and was booked.

Garcia worked at the Wal-Mart for four months.

"Walmart is cooperating fully with police with their investigation. The individual no longer works for Wal-Mart," said a Wal-Mart spokesperson.

Detectives are concerned that he may have abused other children at the store during that time, given that he molested two separate victims in a brief period Monday evening. Store security camera video will be reviewed for other dates and times Garcia was on-duty at the Wal-Mart.
