It looks like our H1B friends took their toys and went home.
For now. I've been checking now and then, and if some intel pops up from the other side I'll share it. They are plotting post 'flower campaign' strategy now. I'm sure we're being discussed somewhere, but probably not in English and Immigration Voice insists on English posts. Unless they have hidden areas (I have a member login).
They're reacting!!!!

Maybe this is why things fell silent.
Ahem, BR,
Now you've done it! Shame on you! They're gonna energize John Cornyn to swing back to the left and vote their way - The infamous "skil bill," the heinous "Dream Act," and, of course, amnesty for their illegal "brouthers!"Quote:

Ahem! They think they're immigrants! They're NON-immigrants! Their visas, the insidious H-1B, is a NON-immigrant (and job destruction) visa!

LMAO, way to go Betsy I think you have them worried we are going to find out top secret information!!
Thank you, and what I take away from their thread is, amazement at how little they take away from ours. Do they have a problem with reading comprehension, or is this another example of the wishfull thinking we've already seen? They will come over here or some other forum, and announce they've won a debate when they got trounced. They will say that ALIPAC should fear them because their flower campaign was successful, when we were part of a coalition that defeated CIR and is rolling back tolerance for illegal immigration. They seem to be more affluent than many of us (duh, they took our jobs) but we are far more numerous than them.
They don't seem to read or understand what we say, they only seem to react to our failure to submit to them. What did they expect? If the baby boomers can be mobilized against them, that might be the ticket. I have a membership to Barbara Ehrenreich's organization (United Professionals) and will pursue raising awareness over there. Also AARP - membership starts in the 50s, when most of us still have to work.
You're right. Not a single one responded to any of my questions or issues that I raised - like the US becoming overpopulated like India.Quote:

They always ignore us Kate when they have to deal in facts, they care about one thing and that is getting to stay in the greatest Nation on earth after breaking and entering, nothing else matters, especially their affect on us and our country.
Betsy, United Professionals would be great to get the word out too. My husband and I are members of AARP.
I'm hopeing that the baby boomers are not the last great American patriotic fighting generation in this country or it is in trouble.
The schools have been teaching kids for a long time now if they say anything they are racist, so I have been trying to teach my grandchildren the difference between racisam and the act of protecting and honoring our constitution to protect their country. Patriotism is going to have to be taught in the home, they are barely teaching the history of this country, because they may offend someone. So much for assimilation.
Here is more on Immigration Voice - and, to add insult to injury, part of the reason there are so many people waiting for green cards is that the US gave out so many H-1B visas. Just think - the cap between '00 and '03 was around 200K, with lots of exemptions to the cap. So, instead of expiring and going home, they expire - and wait here in their jobs for green cards. Anything Immigration Voice does to speed up green cards will prolong and extend the flooding of our skilled labor market.
