U.S. Border Patrol Weekly Blotter (09/21/2011)

Border Patrol agents seized more than 15,544 pounds of marijuana and 334 pounds of cocaine. Agents arrested 10 criminal aliens and 16 gang members. There were four rocking incidents.

El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Calexico, California. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction in the state of California for indecent exposure and had been previously removed from the United States.


El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Calexico, California. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for sexual battery and had been previously removed from the United States.


San Diego Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 334.66 pounds of cocaine, a tractor-trailer, and arrested a national of Mexico at the traffic checkpoint near Pine Valley, California. A Border Patrol canine alerted to the tractor-trailer and a scan using non-intrusive inspection technology revealed anomalies within the vehicle. A subsequent search by agents uncovered the cocaine.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Honduras near Gila Bend, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for homicide and had been previously removed from the United States.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Casa Grande, Arizona. During processing, the subject admitted to being a member of the Mexican Mafia gang and records checks revealed he had been previously removed from the United States.

Laredo Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 993 pounds of marijuana, a pickup truck, a handgun, and arrested a United States Citizen (USC) near Bruni, Texas.


Laredo Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from El Salvador near Falfurrias, Texas. During processing, the subject was identified as a member of the La Raza Unida gang. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction in the state of Nevada for sexual assault and battery.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,814 pounds of marijuana and recovered a stolen truck near Casa Grande, Arizona. The vehicle containing the marijuana was found abandoned.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 133 pounds of marijuana and arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Nogales, Arizona. During processing, the subject was identified as a member of the Sureño gang who had been previously removed from the United States.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near San Miguel, Arizona. During processing, the subject admitted to being a member of the Sureños gang. Records checks revealed the subject had been previously removed from the United States.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,906 pounds of marijuana near Kaka, Arizona. The marijuana was found hidden in the desert.

Marfa Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 248 pounds of marijuana, two vehicles, and arrested three USCs and six illegal aliens from Mexico near Valentine, Texas.


San Diego Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near San Ysidro, California. During processing, the subject admitted to being a member of the Sureño 13 gang. Records checks revealed the subject had been previously removed from the United States.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Cowlic, Arizona. During processing, the subject admitted to being a member of the Sureño gang. Records checks revealed the subject had been previously removed from the United States.

El Paso Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near El Paso, Texas. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction in the state of Texas for aggravated sexual assault of a child and had been previously removed from the United States.


Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Honduras near Penitas, Texas. During processing, the subject admitted to being a member of the Mara Salvatrucha 13 (MS-13) gang. Records checks revealed the subject had been previously removed from the United States.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Douglas, Arizona. During processing, the subject was identified as a member of the Sureño 13 gang and records checks revealed he had been previously removed from the United States.

Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 4,506 pounds of marijuana, a tractor-trailer, and arrested a national of Cuba at the traffic checkpoint near Sarita, Texas. A scan using non-intrusive inspection technology revealed anomalies within the trailer and a subsequent search by agents uncovered the marijuana.


Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,140 pounds of marijuana near Hidalgo, Texas. Agents discovered the marijuana abandoned in the brush.


San Diego Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near San Ysidro, California. Records checks revealed the subject had an active warrant of arrest issued in the state of California for homicide.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Kohatk, Arizona. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction in the state of California for rape and had been previously removed from the United States.

El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Ocotillo, California. Records checks revealed the subject was a convicted sex offender and had active warrants of arrest issued in the state of California for perjury and a sex offense. The subject had also been previously removed from the United States.


Marfa Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 207 pounds of marijuana, $6,355 in U.S. currency, and arrested one USC and five illegal aliens from Mexico near Odessa, Texas.


Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Mission, Texas. Records checks revealed the subject had a prior conviction for 2nd degree murder and had been previously removed from the United States.


Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,187 pounds of marijuana, a sport utility vehicle, and 40 rounds of rifle ammunition near Weslaco, Texas. The vehicle containing the contraband was found abandoned near the Rio Grande River.


San Diego Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near San Diego, California. During processing, the subject was identified as a member of the Sureño gang who had been previously removed from the United States.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Arizona City, Arizona. During processing, the subject admitted to being a member of the Sureño gang. Records checks revealed the subject had been previously removed from the United States.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,911 pounds of marijuana and recovered a stolen pickup truck near Hickiwan, Arizona. The vehicle was found with the assistance of a CBP Office of Air and Marine air asset, concealed under brush in the desert.
