Don't mix flu and immigrant debate

Some of what is being said about the possible swine flu pandemic that seems to have originated in Mexico demonstrates that ignorance is infectious.

Among the infected: Rep. Duncan D. Hunter, R-Lakeside, who recently proposed that President Obama consider restricting travel between the United States and Mexico and prepare to close the border to “ensure this virus does not spread any more than it might already have.â€

We aren't Ruben. The Mexican Flu is about public safety and border security, not immigration.

Notice how all the OBL mouthpieces are jumping all over the place telling that the Swine Flu de Mexico is not about "immigration"?

They are yelling, don't blame it on the illegal aliens... when it's really about National Security and public safety. They are really turning illegal aliens in to the scapegoats and using them. They might as well be saying, don't close the border because of illegal aliens.

Illegal aliens don't use the border crossings, unless they are passing through as cargo or hidden in vehicles, so why would it matter if we closed the border crossings?

The author, Ruben Navarrette, is infected with ignorance to try to pull the wool over the eyes of smart thinking Americans who know that thousands sneaking over our southern border in the dark of night, or plain view of day are potential carriers of disease, including swine flu, that will go undetected. Millions of illegal aliens are living in the United States, and we know that lack of medical screening leave all those that they come in contact with at risk.

The nation of Mexico is threatening our population with swine flu and other things, including loss of jobs, lower wages, and the dumbing down of education within the United States. Let us not all be dumbed down to believe that Mr. Navarrette does not know the truth and just hopes that we will buy his nonsense.

If the word Mexico keeps being tied to the outbreak, shouldn't logic prevail that Mexico should be avoided at this time and so should the people who may be infected and floating across the border?
