Mexico seizes weapons, marijuana

� Mexico’s Department of Defense announced Thursday that the military seized 30 weapons, more than 10,000 rounds of ammunition, and more than a ton of marijuana in Miguel Alemán, in the state of Tamaulipas.

The cache was secured in two separate operations on Wednesday near the Monte Bello colonia.

�

The military found a pit containing 187 packages of marijuana plus 10 weapons, 122 charges, and 3,913 rounds of ammunition.

�

Searches in the area led to 20 weapons, 218 chargers and 6,129 rounds of ammunition.

�

The estimated value of the marijuana was placed at $74,150,000 pesos.
