I have been admiring, endorsing, extolling and promoting the Minuteman Project since I first learned of its existence.

But this past weekend, I took the next logical step – I joined the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps. That's right, I volunteered to join this courageous band of American patriots as a volunteer border watcher this fall.

A few years ago, I wrote a book called Taking America Back," in which I urged my fellow countrymen to start doing their part as individuals to restore morality, freedom and the rule of law in this nation.

There weren't many spectacular models for what I had in mind back then. But the Minutemen are a perfect example.

It couldn't be more clear that the U.S. government is refusing to enforce the duly enacted immigration laws. We can scream about it. We can cry about it. We can petition. We can write letters to our congressmen. We can write letters to the editor. But, ultimately, four years after our country was attacked by terrorists, I don't think any of these actions are going to force the federal government to take responsibility for border control.

I believe the president, the Congress and many of our elite cultural institutions are hell-bent on following some kind of disastrous master plan that involves forgoing serious border security in favor of multinational agreements that only exacerbate our crisis with illegal migrants invading America. The passage of the Central America Free Trade Agreement is just the latest example of this misguided, unconstitutional policy.

You can agree or disagree with that premise, but there is no denying that the U.S. government refuses, despite an overwhelming demand from the American people, to enforce immigration laws and border security.

There are so many reasons to believe border security is the No. 1 crisis facing America right now:

It's a matter of national security, because terrorists are infiltrating this country with plans to kill millions of Americans.

It's a matter of economics, because illegal aliens are taking jobs away from American citizens.

It's a matter of preserving our American culture and language.

It's a matter of safety, because illegal aliens are disproportionately responsible for crime.

It's a matter of preserving the rule of law, because if the government picks and chooses which laws will be enforced, the law becomes meaningless.

It's a matter of preserving U.S. sovereignty, because if borders don't mean anything, we cease to be a nation.

It's a matter of accountability and respect for the will of the people, because if elected officials don't listen, our experiment in representative government fails.

I believe the Minutemen represent our last line of defense in preserving freedom and self-government in America.

    It's that simple.

We can't afford to allow the Minutemen to fail.

Ultimately, in a country in which we still theoretically believe in a government of the people, by the people and for the people, the government must be forced – kicking and screaming if necessary – to accept its responsibility in enforcing the laws.

Only a massive outpouring of support for the Minutemen will make that happen.

It's time to take a stand. The hour is late. This country doesn't have much time left to reverse its self-destructive course.

The Minutemen will be taking action again this fall – with plans much bigger than anything yet undertaken.

The plan is to shut down both the Mexican and Canadian borders to illegal alien traffic for at least a limited period of time with a volunteer, citizen army to support the undermanned, outgunned, under-funded Border Patrol professionals.

I understand that not everyone is in a position to do what I plan to do – go to the border to put my body on the line with the Minuteman heroes. Some of you can. It's time to report for duty.

Maybe you can't take time off from work to join us. But everyone can support this action – with money, with prayers, with political support.

I urge you to do so right now.

After much reading of many different reports I no longer believe that we were attacked by terrorists on 9-11. I believe we were attacked by our own government. (The evidence is that in the 60's the government had planned an attack against the people in order to justify going to war with Cuba....you can figure out the rest)

The last straw in my reasoning is that they have not secured our borders. If the terrorists were here and they knew it by having already been attacked...they would fear for their lives...and THAT would have them close the borders. They know we were NOT attacked by terrorists...at least not THAT time..so they've not responded with any fear or even any particular notice to what's going on along our border.

Tell me...what American of any ilk or persuasion would sit and read to children for 8 minutes after being informed that we were under attack?? That is, if they didn't know in advance who what when and where.?? I think it was really very nice of our good friends the Saudis to supply the sacrifices so we could be sacrificed. (sarcasm)

I have read those reports also RR, and don't know what I believe. The border is certainly something you would think would be closed immediately.

The one thing that keeps coming to my mind is that Barbara Olson, wife of Ted Olson, one of Bush's top attorneys was on the plane that hit the Pentagon. Would he have sacrificed her.

She wrote the book "Hell to Pay:" The Unfolding Story of Hillary Rodham Clinton.

I think they were just recently married when she died.

Ted Olson was mentioned by somebody, (I can't remember who) as maybe on the list for the Supreme Court.

    Just a thought.

I wouldn't put anything past this government.
