Allowing infested agricultural products into U.S. brings indictments

LAREDO, April 17 - Two U.S. Department of Agriculture officers and the owner of a pest control service were indicted for illegally permitting infested agriculture products to enter the United States from Mexico, U.S. Attorney Don DeGabrielle announced Thursday.


Jose Homero Reyes, 48, and Rafael Edmundo Melo Jr., 40, are USDA plant protection and quarantine officers and Arturo Ramirez, 46, is the owner of Ambush Exterminators. The defendants are all from Laredo.
