LULAC: Arizona’s New Anti-Illegal Law Unconstitutional, Racist

A Latin American group here in southern Colorado is angry about Arizona's new law for cracking down on illegal immigrants.
The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) is outraged at the new law that requires some people to carry proof of citizenship on them at all times. "If everyone was required to carry a birth certificate, I could understand that. But at this point only Hispanics, or people of color... brown... It's a crime to be brown in Arizona, that's what it amounts to! It amounts to racism, it amounts to racial profiling," says Tom Duran, Colorado State Director for LULAC.
Duran also says, his Jewish grandchildren are disgusted by the new law, drawing similarities between it and actions taken in Europe during World War II. "What's the next step? If we have to carry around a birth certificate, the next step is what, an armband to prove that we are US citizens?" questions Duran.
Arizona's governor Jan Brewer, signed the law into effect Friday, and since then hundreds of thousands have voiced their concern and disapproval of the measure.
While many admit there is an illegal immigrant problem, both in Arizona and throughout the nation as a whole, opponents of this new law say it’s not the way to go about fixing the immigration situation.
Duran and others say, this new law will lead to the rights of legal citizens being trampled, and he has contacted the national leadership of LULAC, to ask them to issue an immediate national boycott of all goods made in Arizona.

Under the Patriot Act American citizens are required to identify themselves to police when asked. They may be held until they produce an ID.

The pro-illegals are grasping at straws. Funny how their true colors are being revealed for all to see.

If I were to light a cigarette on a NYC subway in front of a police officer and didn't have an ID on me I'd be locked up until my identity was/could be ascertained. END OF STORY!

My former in-laws were in concentration camps under the Nazis. They were never able to talk about their experience, it was too horrifying to remember. They would be appalled to hear people comparing the "suffering" of illegal aliens (suffering as in free medical, free education, free, free, free) to the true suffering of Jews under Nazi Germany."A Nation of sheep will beget a government of Wolves" -Edward R. Murrow

Ethnic advocacy groups have seized upon the phrase "racial profiling" as a weapon to use against legitimate criminal investigation. They seek to equate the term "profiling" with "discrimination." Thereby crackdowns on crime that tend to follow racial lines will be subverted.
However, we all tend to profile, sometimes by race, when we think about potential perpetrators of various crimes. The profiling can take the form of probabilistic assumptions based upon: age, gender, education, income and, yes,...race.
If I asked you to picture a Wall Street criminal what comes to your mind? Or if I substitute "crack dealer" what do you think of. How about "cybercriminal?"
We all may have slightly different assumptions; nevertheless they are "profiles" because we think it is best to form some assumptions of what kind of person would commit such crimes.
Criminal investigation science has added to its toolbag of investigative methods over the centuries. Beyond "clues" at the scene, and later on, sociology of crime groups or "criminology," criminal investigation added in recent decades "criminal offender profiling." This methods of making certain assumptions, though not always borne out, has helped law enforcement find the bad guys.
Don't let OBL grouos undermine enforcement of our national security laws with charges of "Profiling." This is only a crafty, contrived subterfuge for what they actually want.

So it is racist for a trained sheriff to ask and not racist for a border patrol to ask for papers?
