HOW TO SPIN UP THE LIBERAL OPEN BORDER CROWD

Make posts in a good liberal story about the war in Iraq and turn the message board into a discussion about Illegal Aliens.

U.S. death toll in Iraq surpasses 3,000 as new year begins

    NORTH COUNTY TIMES

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) -- U.S. troops killed six people Monday during a raid on a possible safe house for al-Qaida in Iraq, the military said, while the death toll of American service members in Iraq surpassed 3,000.

And then we could also have maps of the associated costs in supporting social services to illegals. As far as our military goes we all know that soldiers get killed in wars, and that is just a fact of life. If you do not want Military deaths the do not wage wars."

    THEY DIED IN VAIN
    - wrote on December 31, 2006 11:48 PM:"- Yes, all 3,000 of them died in vain, all for the vanity of George Bush. Most wars are fought in vain. In the Bush War, as in the Vietnam War, they were all sent to their deaths in wars based on idiotic pretexts. In Vietnam 58,200 died proving the invalidity of the domino theory. Our worst fears came true. The communists won and drove us out; they unified ’Nam, and today we have diplomatic relations with them. We sell them Pepsi; they offer packaged war-nostalgia vacation tours. And now our troops die needlessly in Iraq for oil. When we develop new alternatives for oil, we will have energy that is ubiquitous, plentiful, earth friendly and cheap: we will no longer need Iraqi oil, or Saudi oil. But it will be impossible to bring back the dead soldiers who died in vain. Where is the vision in America? When will we break free of the war profiteers, the warmongering military industrial complex, and return to the principles that made up a free, prosperous and respected nation? "

Let's just sit on our hands and do nothing about the raping we just got. Let's stick our heads in the sand and ignore the problem."? Is that what you pinprick people want out there? I say there are some things worth fighting over and liberation of a terrorized nation can not be counted in dollars and lives. How about you move to some horrible land where you have to hide your food, clothes, religious items, and bow down to another man as if he were God? Here is an idea, consider the good that we have done for the majority of the nation over there and stop dwelling on all of the bad. Don't believe everything you hear coming out of CNN because guess what, the majority of the Iraqi people are overjoyed to know that there are free of their tyrant and all of his crap."

    - wrote on January 01, 2007 12:14 PM:"- How interesting that some people (January 01, 2007 2:55 AM) still believe Iraq was responsible for the 9/11 attack on America. Iraq and Saddam Hussein had NOTHING to do with 9/11. It was al Qaida and Saudi Arabians who attacked us. Bush and his OILigarchy attacked a people who NEVER attacked us, NEVER even threatened to attack us, and NEVER even had the capacity to wage effective war against us until Bush invaded and occupied their land. Bush has now killed 650,000 Iraqis and 3,000 American troops unnecessarily. Was all this slaughter necessary just to hang Saddam? Bush has bankrupted the treasury and caused generations of pain, agony and anger. It is time for this nation to return to the principle which made us strong, made up free and prosperous. We need enlightened leadership and an enlightened people. "

To How Interesting wrote on January 01, 2007 12:20 PM:"It's apparent that you have swallowed the whole plotline that the Bush regime has been trying to shove down our throats. Why have we turned our backs on capturing Osama bin Laden? Why are there more terrorists in Iraq now then before we invaded. Why were false pretenses built up to justify us invading country? If we really want to help "some horrible land" why haven't we offered substantial help to Darfur? I don't watch CNN, I get my news from dozens of international sources, even some American (but stay away from Fox news). The problem is that people like yourself don't question what's being sold to them. Look up "Project Censored 2007" and decide for yourself. The Iraq invasion was planned before 911 ever happened, it just helped justify it, in Bush's eyes. There are many places in the world that are being run by murderous tyrants, why aren't we going after all of them? I support out troops, they are doing the job that they've been ordered to do, but are we safer here in the good 'ol USA now? You're kidding yourself if you think we are. Bring our troops home and let the Iraqi's ruin their own country. "

If you had an ounce of common sense you'd see that. But you've swallowed the same propaganda that led millions of Germans to believe that the Third Reich was under threat from Poland, Czechoslovakia, and France, and that Hitler's war against civilization was the answer. I'm so sick of reading 'Semper fi!' Semper fi to what? Big Oil and corrupt politicians who don't care about you, your sacrifice or your country? How stupid and pathetic."

Then there are those who were lost in ill protected Humvees. It turns out their is a vehicle manufactured in Louisiana that has angled sides that is better protection against IEDs than Hummers. We ARE the richest nation on earth and we CAN afford to give our soldiers the very best equipment. This is why anyone with who supports the soliders (and that should be EVERYONE) should be storming the Whitehouse and Congress and demanding that they drop everything they are doing and get our soldiers the best equipment. This is totally UNEXCUSABLE on the part of our government. At the height of WWII they were producing Battleships in Oakland at the rate of 1 every 30 minutes! And that was in 1945. There is No Excuse for loosing soldiers because we are too cheap to buy them the best equipment. No excuse. This stuff is available now - it is not some pie in the sky R&D project. Tell your Congressman (Bilbray are you listening) that they need to get this stuff NOW. No more excuses."

Skip wrote on January 01, 2007 4:07 PM:"First factor in the gang killings and that alone will probably get you 12 people a day, although some of those victims are probably not citizens. Then factor in the homicide rates for states. A good place to look would be the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles. Over 105 murders in that area alone. Then take into account all of the traffic accidents, DUI's, and Hit- and-Runs, and the totals add up. What you do not realize is that the mainstream media downplays these incidents, and no mainstream Liberal media is compiling the statistics, on Illegal Alien incidents. It is sort of like what you don't know won't hurt you. Just in the last two weeks 3 police officers were shot and critically wounded by Illegal Aliens in California, and just yesterday a sheriff's deputy was killed in Georgia by a hit and run illegal. In Utah on Christmas Eve 3 out of 6 Ceran family members were killed by an Illegal Alien drunk driver, and how can you forget Amy Kortlang, from Ramona. The numbers are out there if you know where to look."

They're much more comfortable with their mainstream media-fed delusions about a nation of immigrants, etc. If these ostriches were brave enough to pull their pinheads out of the sand for a moment to look topside and see the truth they couldn't handle it. Their comments here prove it."

John1 to El Guero wrote on January 01, 2007 5:27 PM:"I understand your bitterness. Americans have the right to both protest and support the war effort. El Guero wrote on January 01, 2007 5:44 PM:"You're right, John1. Americans do have the right to both protest and support the war. I think I understand the feeling of those who are committed to serve their country wanting to believe that they're fighting for a worthy cause and not wanting to believe that a fraud has been perpetrated on them and on the rest of us. That's the trouble with committing (and losing) flesh and blood to a cause, any cause; it's just not so easy to weigh the evidence and change your mind about it."

That's an excellent idea Skip! The illegal immigration issue can be infused into most debates, regardless of the original debate topic.

I'm off to find a Martha Stewart cooking discussion! Perhaps I can turn a discussion toward burritos and go from there.

Seriously, I think your idea has a lot of merit and would certainly help us get our word out to a variety of people. No attempt out getting our message out is to small in scope. We don't always have to be "in your face" with our message, the subtle approach can achieve the same results.

War protesters hold silent vigil for fallen troops

By: YVETTE URREA - Staff Writer

SAN DIEGO -- Holding candles and signs, including one that stated "Not one more death. Not one more dollar," along the street outside the Balboa Naval Hospital, an estimated 175 people gathered to remember the 3,000 U.S. troops who have died fighting the war in Iraq.

Our presence only aggravates a very difficult situation there that the Iraqis must solve for thenmselves. It behooves us to close down our bases and bring our troops home, so that we can undergird the rebuilding of Iraq, rather than to continue with its destruction."

Can't you keep your comments in context with the article instead of promoting more hate.. Besides the fact your number is only 1/4 the number of people murdered in the US each year. It all adds up to one thing violence. This world is progressivly getting more and more violent and we need to start puting our foot down somewhere and stop the madness. I just feel bad for my two young sons that they have to come up in a world where a boy shoots and kills a police officer, suicide bombers strap bombs to there chest to kill our service men and women, mad men get into planes target buildings to kill as many people as possible. It all has to stop, maybe if more people would protest the world would change."
