    U.S Farmer moved to Mexico

His name is Steve Scaroni, the logo on the box appears to be T&A. Anyone have any more info on this would appreciate. I know I personally will avoid buying his product.

Farming since he was a teenager, Mr. Scaroni, 50, built a $50 million business growing lettuce and broccoli in the fields of California, relying on the hands of immigrant workers, most of them Mexican and many probably in the United States illegally.

Senator Dianne Feinstein, Democrat of California, displayed a map on the Senate floor in July locating more than 46,000 acres that American growers were cultivating in just two Mexican states, Guanajuato and Baja California.

How convenient that bagged salads are not under the rules of Country of Origin.
They are cut up veggies so they are exempt...

he says Mexican workers are less productive in their own country.
You don't say ... maybe if they WERE, Mexico would be the #1 country in the world ...

Hey, while tlaking about NAFTA, be sure to check the labels on the meat you buy at the store. They now have the country of origin on them. My stores sold beef which had Mexico, USA and Canada on them meaning that the beef came from all three sources. No Thanks. I found a local farm where I can buy a whole side of beef and I know the country of origin.

If they are so great, culturally enriching, and hard-working, why is their country such a sh*thole?

T&A stands for Tanimura and Antle (http://www.taproduce.com/). Not sure if they're related, but Mr. Scaroni is supposedly the largest harvester of lettuce for Fresh Express (bagged salads), which is owned by Dole (http://dole.com/Products/Products_Landi ... tGroupID=4). And trust me, the salads don't look anything like the picutre on the Dole website!

Great idea! I found a local farm in my area that sells their own beef, pork, turkey and chicken that has no toxins in it and tastes a lot better.

He's far from what I consider a "farmer"........he's big Agri-business through and through so let him leave. He's not hurting my feelings any.

Good riddance. Let him sell his crap to Mexicans......if he pays them enough to where they can afford it, that is.

And just wait until he, and the rest of his ilk, are forced to start sharing his farm land with the cartels for their grow operations and labs, and they start having their crops stolen by the truckloads by the "poor Mexicans just trying to feed their families"

It's time to start supporting the REAL farmers.....our local growers, the small family farms. They offer a much better product and we know where our food came from, that it's not contaminated, and who has been handling it.
