LENEXA, Kan. -- Police seized 22 pounds of cocaine during a traffic stop late Thursday night, KMBC's Dan Weinbaum reported.

Officers said they pulled over a van with a malfunctioning taillight on northbound Interstate 35. Police said the driver and the passengers were acting suspiciously.

"After the gentlemen got out of the car, they were nervous. The stories didn't jive on where they were going and what they were doing," Detective Derrick Pierce said.

After searching four men inside the vehicle, officers said they found 20 bricks of cocaine strapped around three of the men's waists.

"Noticed a bulge around the middle section of at least one of them, touched and discovered the packaging," Pierce said.

Police said the bricks have a street value of $160,000.

All four men are from Mexico. They are being held in the Johnson County Jail.
