If enacted, Hazleton’s law would have fined landlords who knowingly housed illegal immigrants and revoked the business licenses of employers who knowingly hired them.
My question is this: How will they be able to prove it? Won't they just say "I didn't know"?

I live in an association and have neighbors who frequently say that after being busted. They always get away with it.

By the way, please don't get me wrong. I like what little I know of this law. Without forcing employers to use e-Verify and landlords from background checks, they’ll always have the excuse.
I would never be so arrogant as to move to another country and expect them to change for me.
