Southern Poverty Law Center to award the 'Dobbsy'

The Southern Poverty Law Center, a civil rights group with a history of monitoring hate groups, said Wednesday it will start a new award for people in the mainstream media who “make utterly false or misleading statements that have the effect of denigrating or defaming an entire group of people.â€

Dobbs constant discussion of illegal immigration has upset Hispanic groups who say he is offensive to Latinos and one-sided on the issue. Dobbs has denied charges of xenophobia.

HAHAHA wow! Dobbs is against illegal immigration, why do these idiots insist on making it all about latinos? This is so incredibly laughable it's ludicrous! His WIFE was born in MEXICO! LOL!! Her PARENTS live with them!

Do these groups really know the definition of xenophobia?

an unreasonable fear or hatred of foreigners or strangers or of that which is foreign or strange.

Americans are foreign and strange to illegal aliens. Illegal aliens are the ones with the unreasonable fear and well-documented hatred of Americans (one group of people).

I think they are slandering Lou and they should have to come up with some proof that he is lieing, I mean real documented proof, not just their rhetoric...

I want some real proof illegals are not cutting wages of Americans, are not comitting crimes, are not crossing our borders illegally, are not over crowding our schools or costing the taxpayers for illegals education, or that they are not using our hospitals and the American people are picking up the tab....etc. etc. etc.

because these are the truths that Lou is reporting! so if you can not prove any different then you need to shut the hell up!

Lou Dobbs is a fine American who is standing up for this country. I'm an American of Hispanic descent and I'm against illegal immigration. I will continue to applaud Lou. Last year SPLC had a feature about anti-illegal immigration activists and all the people featured in the list were labeled as racists and members of hate groups. SPLC can shove it. SPLC rarely pubslishes material on their website about white Americans who are victims of hate crimes from Hispanics. SPLC doesn't care about the costs illegal immigration is inflicting on Americans.

How childish. The SPLC needs to grow the heck up!
