Hispanic students vanish from Alabama schools in wake of new law on illegal immigration
By Associated Press, Updated: Friday, September 30, 12:38 PM
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Hispanic students have started vanishing from Alabama public schools in the wake of a court ruling that upheld the state’s tough new law cracking down on illegal immigration.
Education officials say scores of immigrant families have withdrawn their children from classes or kept them home this week, afraid that sending the kids to school would draw attention from authorities.
There are no precise statewide numbers. But several districts with large immigrant enrollments — from small towns to large urban districts — reported a sudden exodus of children of Hispanic parents, some of whom told officials they would leave the state to avoid trouble with the law, which requires schools to check students’ immigration status.
The anxiety has become so intense that the superintendent in one of the state’s largest cities, Huntsville, went on a Spanish-language television show Thursday to try to calm widespread worries.

NO AMNESTY
Don't reward the criminal actions of millions of illegal aliens by giving them citizenship.

Outstanding. Now citizen students can have their schools returned to them and can actually learn.

Still not enough
Well they havent disappeared fast enough. We need laws with teeth, which means putting them on buses or boats and shipping back where they came. This law still hasnt made illegal immigration a major crime but just discourages it and if you happen to get caught them you may or may not get deported according to Homeland Sec.

This article cites Hispanics leaving because of the new law, it doesn't mention other students that didn't show up or withdrew, just Hispanics.
Is this a little back door pandering from the newspaper?
I heard that the Headstart programs had a big drop in attendance and so did the daycares that accept subsidies. But no mention was made of a specific ethnicity.Support our FIGHT AGAINST illegal immigration & Amnesty by joining our E-mail Alerts at https://eepurl.com/cktGTn

I have seen some clips n the nightly news and it showed Hispanics and they were saying they were packing up and moving TO CALIFORNIA. So essentially they are NOT LEAVING THE USA. Just moving around to other states.

Being an educator, my immediate thought was for the Alabama teachers who might be able to teach their grade or subject in ENGLISH to English speaking students for a wonderful change! The citizen children would finally get the education their parents are paying for through their taxes!
