Most Texans and Americans support Arizona's new immigration enforcement law

Most Americans support the new Arizona immigration according to May 2010 polls. Graphic shows %.
Two new polls indicate most Americans support the Arizona immigration law by a strong amount.
Foes of the new Arizona immigration law have little right to complain, because they overlook that illegal immigration itself is a federal crime.
Arizona has stood up to the federal government, who has failed to apply enough resources to immigration law enforcement, and made it a state crime as well.
Texas, and other states, are now considering their options to draft solutions for local authorities into immigration law enforcement.
Most citizens, especially in the most immigrant-stressed areas, think local enforcement is a good idea, if the federal government will not enforce its own laws, as long as it respects civil liberties and avoids stereotyping.
Congressional reports, news media, and local authorities’ reports illegal immigrants are coming from all across world including countries with ties to terrorism.
Even the Department of Homeland Security says 52,000 immigrants from countries other than Mexico were caught illegally entering the United States in 2009.
The vast majority of them enter via Mexico
.
One Congressional report primarily focused on Texas revealed much of the items found from the illegal immigrants were not from Mexico. In one instance, patches on a jackets found in the Texas desert read 'martyr way to eternal life.'
Other items included a patch showing a plane crashing into the twin towers. Another found a Middle Eastern prayer rug.
A strong majority of Americans support Arizona’s controversial new immigration law and would back similar laws in their own states, two new May 2010 polls from McClatchy-Ipsos and Pew Research Center revealed.
Concerned about the federal government's failure to secure the nation's borders, legislators and political candidates from many states are introducing laws in support of local immigration enforcement.
"With the federal government currently AWOL in fulfilling its constitutional responsibilities to protect American lives, property and jobs against the clear and present dangers of illegal-alien invaders, state lawmakers … are left with no choice but to take individual action to address this critical economic and national security epidemic," said Pennsylvania state Rep. Daryl Metcalfe.
South Carolina State Rep. Eric Bedingfield sponsored a bill allowing verification of immigration status and providing for the "warrantless arrest of persons suspected of being present in the United States unlawfully."
Bedingfield's bill provides enforcement of illegal immigrants who fail to complete or carry legal registration documents and would criminalize "hiring and picking up workers at different locations while impeding traffic."
Oklahoma, state Rep. Randy Terrill and other lawmakers feel hopeful about a bill that may go beyond Arizona's new law.

Once more states pass laws like Arizona then the government will have to do something. ICE does not have the authority to do their jobs properly. I spoke with some when they were doing raids in Miami Dade and Broward County and was shocked what I heard. If an illegal turns himself in they call the countries embassy and have to cut them loose. Years ago they used to put illegals on a plane with people on them that made sure they got off the plane. Those days are long gone. The illegal who get arrested and have immigration holds on them also don't get deported once out a they have immigration hearings.
As for Florida most people here would love to see Arizona's law here.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
