Migrant caravan: Mexico to deport group which stormed US border

US use tear gas to disperse migrants in Mexico Mexico will deport up to 500 migrants who attempted to storm the US border, according to its interior ministry.
The group were rounded up after trying to cross the border "violently" and "illegally" on Sunday, the ministry said in a statement.
Video footage shows dozens of people - including women and children - running towards the fence that separates the two countries near the city of Tijuana.

They were repelled by tear gas used by US border officers.
Mexico's interior ministry said in a statement that a group of "nearly 500 migrants" had "tried to cross the border in a violent way".
Those identified as having taken part in these "violent events" would be deported immediately, it said.
The ministry added that, "far from helping their objectives", the migrants' actions had violated the legal migration framework and could have led to a "serious incident".

Tensions have been high in Tijuana since the arrival of thousands of migrants earlier this month.
The migrants are in Tijuana after travelling more than 4,000km (2,500 miles) from Central America.

They say they are fleeing persecution, poverty and violence in their home countries of Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador.
However, they now face a long wait to see if their asylum applications will be accepted by the US, with President Donald Trump vowing to keep each migrant on the Mexican side of the border until courts have decided their case. This could take months.


A group managed to climb the first barrier Amid growing desperation on Sunday, the group of about 500 migrants - who had been taking part in a peaceful protest for the right to seek political asylum in the US - made a run for the border.
Mexico's Home Secretary, Alfonso Navarrete, said the group had asked for help to organise the demonstration, but had reportedly been encouraged by some of the movement's leaders to split into different groups and try to cross into the US.
According to news agency AFP, a number managed to climb over the first fence. It was as they tried to cross a second, spike-topped wall that officials on the US side began throwing tear gas.
An AFP journalist saw the migrants - including mothers and children - trying to protect themselves from the gas, with some crying out that they only wanted to find a work and a better life in the US.
Associated Press journalist Chris Sherman said he had seen parents running away with choking toddlers.


However, the US then began firing tear gas Honduran migrant Ana Zuniga, 23, tried to cross with her three-year-old. She told AP: "We ran but when you run the smoke smothers you more."
As a result of Sunday's action, the US closed the San Ysidro border crossing near Tijuana to vehicles and pedestrians for a time before re-opening it.
Mr Trump threatened to close the entire US-Mexico border earlier this week if it was felt the US was going to "lose control" of the situation.
He also said he had given troops at the border the go-ahead to use lethal force if needed.
Mr Trump has deployed about 5,800 troops to the border. He previously described the migrants as an "invasion".

It is an invasion. The president must stop these caravans and all illegal immigration across the border. It will not stop unless the security is ongoing.

Good Job to all the Americans working on our border! Thank you to all the Marines, Army, National Guard, CBP, Border Patrol and everyone else involved, including especially our dear President Trump who gave the order and refused to back down from it.

And thank you also to all the Mexican police for their part in trying to control this disgusting mob of lunatics and for rounding up and deporting the 500 lawbreakers.

They have no respect. They are lawbreakers.

We cannot allow them entry. This must end for good. A wall must be built. It is a priority. The president must fast track it.

Watching this is frightening to me because this is the mentality they bring inside our country, into our communities. We don't want more illegal aliens roaming America. We have @20 million plus of these individuals. The government continues to fail at sending them out.

Judy, watching it all is unsettling. This is what we can see. Even worse is all of the tens of thousands of illegal aliens who cross undetected or who are not apprehended and the drug cartel and smuggling activities.

I don't think we're going to get the wall, because we don't have the votes and there's no way to get them without an amnesty, so my opinion is we all pursue alternatives that Trump can do through his Executive Powers, for example, keep military on the border and expand it to more areas and start implementing Judy's Plan B against the host and free passage countries who are not doing their part to stop this invasion of our country. It looks like Mexico is actually trying to do something, which is a change from the past and one in the right direction. Even Honduras made some feeble attempts to draw their people back home with offers of employment and so forth. But more must be done.

These are the animals and lunatics who have been invading our country for decades. No difference between them and the Mexicans and Cubans and all the others. They're all the same. Thieves, drug runners, con artists, scammers, frauds, rapists, drunks, killers, criminals, pedophiles, ... all the same. And yes, it is very unsettling, it's sickening. And in years past they would have stormed and gotten in. This time we had a President who knew how to structure an order and refuse to back down from it. We need to keep the military on the border, expand locations and do this for a very very long time. I don't care what it costs, whatever it costs is peanuts compared to what these people cost US if they get into our country.

Who knows, young people watching our great military secure our border might just be the best recruiting tool the military ever had.

Judy, many do agree with you and it is for certain that democrats and many republicans do not want a wall. I did hear at least two people today say the president can build the wall through other avenues, possible the use of defense funds as this is a national emergency, through aid he removes from the sending countries, or other ways.

Also, Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen is trying to thwart President Trump on looking for ways to stop the illegal aliens according to Congress member Andy Biggs. We keep hearing this message.
