A Peddler's Village worker was charged with slashing a colleague with a box cutter after demanding beer and being turned down.

Diogenes Fuentes, 29, faces numerous charges after he allegedly cut the man early Tuesday at the Peddler's Village employee housing off Street Road in Lahaska.

Court records state Fuentes approached fellow employee Ruben Aparicio on the second floor and told him he wanted a beer. When Aparicio said no, Fuentes pulled out the box cutter, slashing him in the chest, neck and hand.

One slash caught Aparicio on the neck before running 12 to 14 inches down his chest, said Solebury Police Chief Dominick Bellizzie.

Immigration status unknown for 2 men

The immigration status remains unknown for two men involved in a fight last month at employee housing at Peddler's Village, police said.

Diogenes Fuentes, 29, was arrested on a slew of charges after he allegedly slashed a co-worker Aug. 11 with a box cutter after demanding beer and being turned down.

He and victim Ruben Aparicio, also 29, are Mexican nationals who police say spoke little English.

Their information has been turned over to federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Philadelphia, said Solebury Police Dominick Bellizzie.

Their names were run through a federal immigration database, but no results came up, Bellizzie said.

A further investigation is unlikely to be completed soon, he said.

Treating the one guy in the emergency room coupled with the costs of arrest and trial of the other guy will probably costs the taxpayers about $100,000 when all is said and done. Not to mention prison term costs.
