Immigration resolution not on board’s official agenda

Prince William County (Map, News) - While the controversial illegal immigration resolution is expected to dominate Tuesday’s meeting of the Prince William County Board of Supervisors, the issue is not even addressed on the official agenda.
A politically active group has lined up more than 50 speakers to address the County Board on the topic and has agreed to speak for a reduced time of one minute apiece to accommodate its numbers, Clerk of the Board Phillip Campbell told reporters Friday.
One challenge still being addressed late last week was how to translate the comments from speakers who could only communicate in Spanish, he said.
Since supervisors unanimously approved a resolution aiming to deny some county services to illegal immigrants and make it easier to deport those who break the law, the topic has dominated public debate.
The Tuesday session is slated to tackle such noncontroversial items as designating county land for future park space and approving sign applications for incoming chain stores such as Dick’s Sporting Goods and Wegmans Food Markets.
To illustrate how the immigration resolution has attracted public attention nationwide, the county staff packed a blue binder with about 400 e-mails they have received in the last week alone, including comments from 45 states.
All but 30 of the e-mails hailed the board for taking a stand on illegal immigration and being an inspiration to other local governments, county spokeswoman Liz Bahrns said.
The board is not set to officially address illegal immigration again until Police Chief Charlie Deane’s highly anticipated briefing Sept. 18. County Executive Craig Gerhart will make a separate presentation on the feasibility and legal issues concerning denying services to illegal immigrants Oct. 2.

If legal there is no issue, if illegal go back to your country. You are not wanted here if you don't come legally.
