GREENSBORO — Moises Campos Palencia made a left turn that changed his life — possibly forever.
Police last month stopped Palencia, saying the light had turned red before he made it through the intersection.
Palencia didn’t get a ticket, but they found he had a standing deportation order dating to when he was a child brought here illegally by his parents.
Now the Greensboro business owner is sitting in a Georgia jail, hoping he can stay legally and wondering when he’ll see his wife and 4-year-old daughter — both U.S. citizens — again.
Palencia said his life is here, not Mexico.
“I went to school. I graduated. I started my business. I paid my taxes,â€

HE BROKE THE LAW!
DID THE WIFE AID AND ABET?
WHERE ARE HIS PARENTS?
BOY HASN'T NORTH CAROLINA MADE IT COZY!
Their situations now illustrate the contradictions of immigration policy. If Palencia had arrived in the United States today, he would be eligible for a green card. Instead, while his wife was sworn in as a citizen in early September, he awaits deportation.
Maybe Congress will fix the 14th Amendment, soon.

So why didn't he apply for citizenship when Amnesty was given out years ago?

“I grew up here. I don’t have anything in my country,
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh....theres the rub. Even though he came here illegally at 9 years old, he knows this is not his country. He evaded the law for many years before finally getting caught. Now it time to return to "my country".

09-14-2008, 11:37 PM #7The sudden separation is hard on them, he said. Hundreds of miles separate him from his family. His wife, Nayelli Rojas Campos , worries about keeping their car audio business going. His daughter wonders where her daddy went.
The children and family of these two men...
miss their families...AND THEY DON'T DESERVE TO BE IN PRISON!!!
Blame your parents, the law existed when they deliberately broke them to come into this country. NO SYMPATHY HERE!Please help save America for our children and grandchildren... they are counting on us. THEY DESERVE the goodness of AMERICA not to be given to those who are stealing our children's future! ... and a congress who works for THEM!

His parents should have taken him home with them and he wouldn't be in this situation.
Why would you start a family knowing that you could be deported on any given day? That's just irresponsible. This man did this to his child. He could have gotten married and had children in Mexico.
Now he faces the consiquences of his poor decisions.
