Mayor's witch hunt ignores public's will

Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon has lost touch with the wishes of his constituency in his witch hunt of Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

If the illustrious Phoenix mayor did his homework, he would know that the majority of voters who put him in office support the efforts of the sheriff in fighting the crimes associated with illegal immigration.

It is amazing that a mayor of the fifth largest city in the country does not understand the concept of voter ratification of the Sheriff's Office policies and recent sweeps. What do you expect from a mayor who would suggest slot machines at the airport as a means of addressing a budgetary shortfall?
