Zeta Founder Arrested

(Mexico City) Flavio Mendez Santiago, also known as ‘El Amarillo’, was arrested by federal police in a small town in Oaxaca. His bodyguard was also captured. Santiago is on a list of 37 most dangerous criminals in Mexico with a reward of over $1 million US. Investigation revealed he is responsible for controlling alien smuggling of aliens from Central and South America, and is suspected of involvement in kidnappings of migrants from trains in Oaxaca. Police Seize Half Ton of Marijuana in Guadalajara

(Guadalajara) Jalisco State Police seized a half ton of marijuana which was hidden in pottery. The packaged drug was sealed within pottery figures destined for northern Mexico.

Miami Herald says Guatemalan Parties are Infiltrated by Organized Crime

The Miami Herald issued a press release that the major political parties in Guatamala are infiltrated by organized crime, and that the parties themselves are part of the problem. (Note: Guatemalan media would not risk saying this.) The statements by an unidentified Guatemalan officer say that people have no idea of the power wielded by organized crime within the country.

(San Pedro Sula, Honduras) A police raid and search on Tuesday morning located weapons, drugs, cell phones and chargers. The weapons included eleven homemade machetes. (Note: This city is one of the 10 deadliest cities in the world; 8 out of 10 are in Latin America.)

El Salvador ended the weekend with 20 murders

Nine murders occurred on Saturday and 11 on Sunday. These included a
bus driver and a police corporal. A total of 183 homicides were recorded, an average of 11 per day. This is a 24% decrease from 2010.

Police Use You Tube to Identify Cartel Leader

(Mexico City) The internet is bit by bit changing everyone's habits, even the most wanted drug traffickers who previously avoided being photographed. Fernando Sanchez Arellano, The Engineer, was identified by the PGR in a series of photographs where he is seen walking at tourist ports in Mexico, accompanied by a woman.

Sanchez Arellano is the heir of the dynasty Arellano Felix clan who built a powerful criminal organization in Tijuana.
