Immigration, in our early days, did make the US great. We took all of the skilled immigrants we could, because if we did not, we would have lost our independence to some other imperial Power.

Today we have low skilled, welfare dependent, floating workers encouraged to litigate for civil right violations by advocacy groups. Pres. Obama has just said that we NEED the agricultural workers who have been here for generations. Even though for the last two hundred years US agriculture has become ever more reliant on machinery boosting production from 30 times to 100 times what it was two centuries ago in certain crops. We would be even more advanced had not a litigious climate ensued in the late 1970's to throttle technological advance.

If we relied on hand reaped wheat (1/100 of todays harvest) and hand picked corn (1/30 of todays level) we, and the people around the world we feed) would be hungry.

So how many new Einsteins are we actually housing in our federal prisons? Maybe they can find an answer to the hundreds of billions of dollars the entire illegal immigration phenomenon is costing us.

How do you spell "out of touch?" O-B-A-M-A.
