    Wednesday, Feb 3, 2010 @03:28pm CST

(Bolivar, MO) -- A Bolivar man learned his sentence Wednesday for hiring illegal aliens at his roofing company.

31-year-old Russell Taylor has been ordered for forfeit more than $185,000 to the government.

That's the amount of money he made while the illegal aliens worked for him.

He also has to pay a $36,000 fine.

In September 2009, Taylor pleaded guilty to hiring, contracting and sub-contracting the illegal aliens from August 2006 to April 2008.

The owner of a Bolivar roofing company who pleaded guilty in September to hiring illegal immigrants was sentenced Wednesday in federal court.

Russell D. Taylor, 31, was sentenced to five years probation in the case as part of a plea agreement with federal prosecutors.

Taylor, who did business as Taylor-Made Roofing and Taylor-Made Contractors, also must forfeit $185,363 tied to the proceeds he made related to the offense, as well as pay a fine of $36,000 -- $3,000 for each of the 12 illegal immigrants who worked for the subcontractor Taylor hired.

The subcontractor, Juan Pacheco-Herrera, has pleaded guilty in a separate case to harboring illegal immigrants, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office in Kansas City.
