A suspected illegal immigrant is behind bars today after police said he broke into a woman's home and sexually assaulted her early Monday.

Rigoberto Xochihua, 26, is being held in Weld County Jail, where bond has been set at $100,000. He was arrested on suspicion of felony burglary, sex assault and criminal mischief early Monday. Immigration and Customs Enforcement have put a hold on him, as well.

Greeley police responded at 12:35 a.m. to the 1200 block of 29th Street Road to a report of a burglary in progress.

A woman reported that she woke up in her bed to someone rubbing the inner part of her thigh, police stated. She said a man she didn't know was standing above her.

According to a police report, the woman got up from the bed and began to leave the room when the man tried to stop her. Police said she then broke away and ran from the residence screaming for help.
