Man escapes after kidnappers drink themselves unconscious
A Juarez man who told authorities he had been kidnapped by a couple of guys from El Paso was able to escape when his abductors got drunk and fell asleep, the El Paso Times reported.

The man slipped out of the house in Juarez where he was being held and ran to a group of Mexican soldiers, who subsequently raided the house and arrested the pair of drunken suspects.

The man said he was being held for ransom, but the suspects apparently deny asking for any ransom and instead said that the three had simply spent the day together drinking.

Officials say that soldiers also found nine packs of marijuana, a sawed-off shotgun, a handgun and a computer disk titled "2008 Database to Locate People in Chihuahua," in the house, the paper reported.
