Mexican consulate to visit Roseburg

ROSEBURG: The Mexican consulate of Portland will visit Roseburg this weekend to speak to the Hispanic community and listen to their concerns.

The event, organized by the Douglas County Hispanic Society, will run from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph School, 800 W. Stanton St.

Beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, the Mexican consulate will provide a matricular consular, which is a personal identification card, to those who need them.

Appointments are needed and can be arranged by calling 672-5457.

Only 200 appointments will be made, and preference will be given to Douglas County residents.

Those with appointments must bring the original or a photo copy of their birth certificates, official picture identification cards and proof of address.
