Illegal alien charged with raping 13-year-old girl in California park

On May 20, police in Novato arrested Salvador Arias, 18, after he reportedly raped a 13-year-old girl in a public park in March.

The Marin Independent Journal reported:

Arias was arrested after a lengthy investigation by the Novato Police Department. Detective Sgt. Michael Howard said the incident occurred March 9 and was reported to authorities that day.

Howard said the alleged incident involved numerous people who were drinking. Police identified Arias as one suspect and are still trying to determine whether other people present also sexually violated the girl.

Arias has been charged with rape with a foreign object, performing a lewd and lascivious act on a child, oral copulation by force, false imprisonment and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

He is currently being held in the Marin County Jail on an immigration detainer.
